Bought this last week for an upcoming trip to Europe for use as an added measure of security in the hotel rooms we are staying in. Received incredibly quick using Amazon Prime.
Tested this portable lock in my house with 2 several doors and functions wonders! With this lock on, it will make it very challenging for an intruder to come in to your space. Although the red piece is plastic it is reinforced with a metal plate underneath it which tends to make it actually solid! This makes the whole portable lock created of metal! When installed, it was difficult for me to go in the dwelling. I think that I would have to kick the door in to jar this portable lock loose.
Good extra measure of security! I'll sleep improved realizing that even if an intruder manage to pick the locks of my hotel room, they would have to kick the door in to open it with this portable lock in place!

When it fits, it delivers a sturdy barrier, swift to put on or take away. It can be specifically beneficial when renting vacation houses or condos exactly where some realtors, house managers, or maintenance males tend to enter without having even knocking at times. Also a lot of people seem to have keys, and feel entitled to enter whenever they please, at such areas. However, it only fits standard doors, and only when the door and lock fit the frame perfectly.
I have by no means been able to use it at a hotel, and too commonly get it will not function in common doors. Unfortunately, housekeeping and maintenance staff have keys to ALL locks, even deadbolts, and can even get into rooms with security bars conveniently. I would like to see a new version of this for hotels, and some alter that would make it less complicated to use on "imperfect" doors.
