Buyer Evaluations
I recently bought two of these motion detector alarms. I had a couple of queries ahead of acquiring that the other reviewers hadn't answered. I will try to give a total assessment to aid other individuals who may be thinking about the acquire.
The units really feel a bit low-priced, but they do operate as described. They have two operating modes: chime and alarm - controlled by a tiny switch on the side of the remote. The chim mode sounds a doorbell like chime (fairly loud) when a person moves across the beam. The alarm has a 45 second exit and 30 second entry time. Countless consumers definitely want a shorter entry time, fearing that a burglar would have too much time to get into the residence.
A couple minor operating points. When the alarm is very first tripped starting the 30 second countdown, it sounds a single loud beep. That can be beneficial or poor. It may well alert you, but it also alerts the intruder - perhaps allowing him time to disable the alarm before it sounds. When the alarm lastly does go off, hold you ears due to the fact it's pretty loud at 120dB.
The remote makes use of a smaller watch kind battery that is included. The remote is especially uncomplicated to operate with "enable" and "disable" buttons. The motion sensor itself takes 3AA batteries that are not included. The units come with a plastic swivel wall-mount bracket, screws, and sheetrock inserts. The motion sensors will not sit flat on a table, simply because their bases are rounded.
The manufacturer apparently has a dilemma with excellent manage. As other reviewers have pointed out, there is a situation with the screw holding on the battery compartment. I bought two units and the screw on one unit was crossthreaded into the plastic and impossible to remove with no stripping the head. The screw on the second unit came appropriate out with out any issue. I've since exchanged the initial unit.
I hope this answers any remaining queries. If not, please feel 100 % free to ask me.
Please be kind sufficient to indicate if reviews are helpful.
I thank C. Perez for pointing out the length of delay. 30 seconds is way as well substantially, if an intruder gets in while I sleep he/she could get to me prior to the alarm even sounds. I want an alarm that goes of instantaneously -- it has a remote so there's no have to have for a delay. I had bought this at WM, will return it unopened.
